Protista:
There are many types of Protists. Protists are classified into the kingdom Protistsa. There are many varieties of protista, here are a few types...

Amebas:

Amebas are one of the most simplest protozoa. They can be found in ponds, rivers, and the surfaces of leaves on water plants. One charateristic of ameba are their "false feet". Scientists call this pseudopodia. The false feet stick out from the rest of the cell. Then other smaller cells (food) come along thinking the false feet is som, ething to eat. The ameba then grabs the cell and eats it.

Paramecia:

Paramecia are freshwater protozoa that are usally oval and have an groove for feeding. They are widespread in freshwater environments. They are especially common in scums. They are also found in acidic conditions. These protozoa use their cilia for movement. If the paramecium runs into a solid object, the cilia changes its direction and beats forward, causing the paramecium to go backward. The paramecium turns slightly and goes forward again. If it runs into the solid object again it will repeat this process until it can get past the object.
